Steve 'Smudger' Smith died tragically in a motorbike accident near Hawkhurst, Kent on 26 June 2007, just days before his 37th birthday.
He left behind three young children, a young widow and hundreds of friends and acquaintances throughout the world of sport, the building trade and the town of Hastings.
It is his family and these friends and acquaintances who have set up SmudgersLegacy to celebrate Steve's life and to support The McCartney Cancer wing at the Conquest Hospital, Hastings, the Kent and Sussex Air Ambulance and to help his young family who have not only lost a loving and caring husband and father but also the family bread winner.
Our aim is to raise money through a wide range of activities and sports events, especially those that Steve loved so much and, most of all, we will all have fun doing it, because having fun was one of Smudger's greatest gifts.
Steve's personality and generosity knew no bounds and that is how we will all remember him.
That is his legacy.
